Brand-family names are not enough. Ask each contractor for the extended heating-performance table for the exact outdoor unit and the capacity at your local winter design temperature.
Fujitsu's current Orion XLTH product page states a heating operating range down to -15F. Mitsubishi publishes multiple Hyper-Heating combinations, so the output you get depends on the exact matched system. A unit continuing to operate at a low temperature is not the same as holding the house load at that temperature.
The right comparison is:
- Your Manual J heating load at design temperature.
- The quoted system's delivered heating capacity at that temperature.

That makes Daikin the relevant third quote when the house has usable ducts or a contractor proposes a central ducted replacement.
